Hafez Persian School is delighted to report the active involvement of children, parents, and school community members in supporting meaningful school events. Each year, the school hosts a variety of indoor and outdoor gatherings.

Indoor Events:

• Norooz (Iranian New Year in March)
• Yalda (celebration of the longest night in December)
• Annual Fundraiser (March)

Outdoor Events:

• Picnic & BBQ at Horton Park
• Day Trip to Chessington World of Adventures
• Visits to Science Museum and Cinema
• Participation in events organized by local authorities, such as the Sutton Festival of the Word and Take Part, Take Pride events

These events, especially the indoor celebrations, provide a wonderful opportunity to introduce Iranian culture to young people who may have limited knowledge of their heritage. Through displays of posters, films, and traditional Iranian arts and crafts, students gain insight into their cultural roots. Additionally, they experience a lively atmosphere with live Iranian music, adding an authentic touch to each celebration.

Each year, approximately 200 participants join these traditional events. Children showcase their talents in dancing, singing, and friendly competitions, while parents contribute by preparing and sharing delicious Iranian foods and observing cultural customs.

During outdoor events, children and parents enjoy fun-filled, relaxing days at destinations like Chessington World of Adventures or on a sunny BBQ picnic at Horton Park.

The school also hosts an annual charity event in March, where students and their families raise funds through musical performances, singing, and showcasing their creative talents. Contributions include various types of Iranian foods, handmade crafts, paintings, and decorative items.

Over the past several years, proceeds have supported the construction of vital community facilities, including:

• Hafez Girls’ High School in the village of Sandakzehi, Dashtiari region, Balochistan
• Hafez Boys’ Technical School in the village of Polan, Dashtiari region, Balochistan
• Hafez Health Center in the village of Karagi, Dashtiari region, Balochistan

These events and initiatives have enriched our community, bridging connections to Iranian heritage while fostering unity and cultural pride.
