The academic year consists of 3 terms and is scheduled every Saturday. Autumn Term September -December Spring Term January - March Summer Term April-July A- Farsi Classes Teaching Farsi as a mother tongue language is performed for ages between 7- 20 at 5 different levels: Farsi Level 1 (Beginners): Level 1 consists of three terms. At this level students become familiar with the characters, alphabet and vocabulary. They will be able to recognise the sounds and syllabus. At the end of this level, students should be able to read and write. They also should be able to make simple sentences using different simple vocabulary. Farsi Level 2: At this level, students develop their vocabulary, and synonyms/antonyms and comprehension. At the end of this level, students should be able to read and write more fluently. They also should be able to write short texts and short stories. They start to read very simple poems. Farsi Level 3: At this level, the students’ reading and writing will be improved in more complex texts and they will study grammar, literature and learn more about the culture, history, geography of Farsi Level 4: At this level students study more grammar and literature. They will be able to recognise different part of a sentence. They learn about subject and object, noun, pronoun, verbs and their time. They learn more about the culture, history, geography of Farsi Level 5: At this level students study grammar - more about adjectives, and learn more about the Past, Present and Future tense. They start to practice some of the GCSE exam papers. They learn to write more essays and use more complex vocabulary. They learn more poems, old prose and more proverbs and expressions. They should be able to understand the meaning and use them where needed. Farsi Level 6 (GCSE Preparation): At this stage students revise everything that they have learnt during the past few years and they will complete their knowledge. At the end of this year they should be able to speak fluently about themselves, family and friends their hobbies and interests, their school and their future. They should be able to understand more complex pieces of writing. Their comprehension will be more developed. Their writing skill should be the standard level for the GCSE exam. They should easily write letters, emails, short stories, articles and short and long essays. Their listening skills should also be of a standard level. At the end of this year they should be confident and ready to sit for GCSE exams. B- Art and Cultural Classes Persian Classic Dance: The young students attend these thoroughly enjoyable dance sessions which has been helped them to achieve a greater understanding of the values held by their elders, giving them the self confidence to develop a well balanced personality. They improve their self confidence and presentation skills. At the end of the year students should be confident enough to use their hand and leg motions and co- ordinate their motions with the music. Music 1 (Guitar Lesson): Music at This class consists of ten sessions. Students learn about the instrument first. They start to get to know the language of the music. They have ˝ hour practicing the notes at the beginning of each lesson and then they try to use their knowledge practically. Each student has the chance to practice individually with the instructor. C- Complimentary School Activities Maths 11+: This syllabus is designed to provide revision of KS2 maths. It aims to give students an opportunity to prepare for 11+ exams. The main topics in this course are: Values, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Converting Units, Big numbers, Ordering, Decimals, Fractions, Sequences and Percentage, Once they are confident in these topics, there will be practice on more topics such as ratio, simple equations, number patterns and more…. GCSE Maths Revision: This syllabus is designed to give full coverage of KS4 maths at higher level. The main subjects in this course are: Algebra including Factorisation, angles & shapes, Area & Volumes, Fractions and Decimals, Graphs, Straight line, quadratic and cubic, Number patterns, Percentages, Pie charts, Probabilities including diagrams, Pythagoras, Ratios including similar Triangles, Simultaneous equations, Transposition of formula, trigonometry and use of scientific calculators GCSE Science Revision: This syllabus is designed to give full coverage of KS4 Biology, Physics and chemistry at higher level. It aims to give students an opportunity to acquire scientific knowledge and develop an understanding of science including its power and limitations. The main subjects in this course are: Life and cells, Growth & development, Human biology, Plants & the environment, classifying materials, equations & calculations, Industrial chemistry, Forces & Motion, Electricity and Nuclear physics French and Spanish Classes: French and Spanish classes are offered by the school. These classes are primarily aimed at students who are in years 7 to 9 in their secondary school and they supplement and complement their main school work. The lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary and conversation, and pupils are trained to improve their writing, oral and comprehension skills. In the summer term, the focus is mainly on revision for secondary school examinations. D- Sport Activities Taekwondo Taekwondo (self defence) is a form of martial arts and It’s main aims are to enhance the participant’s physical and mental strengths. Unlike many other forms of martial arts (ie, Karate, Kunfu, etc), Taekwondo is a recognised Olympic sport and is characterised by the dynamic use of arms and legs using simple exercises that makes it an ideal sport irrespective of age and gender.

Football for Adult and Young Teenagers This is an informal and friendly Football session that takes place at Each session starts at around 11 o’clock and finishes by 12:30. The main aim is to provide the opportunity for Iranian parents and teenagers to take part in a sociable activity within their own community. From next September, it is intended that the sessions will take place in the football ground adjacent to the School.
